Today the Boston Herald in Education program kicks off a fundraiser to support its wide array of educational initiatives. Since 1987 the non-profit has delivered free newspapers to thousands of classrooms throughout New England. They also offer specialized curriculum, monthly student publishing opportunities in the Boston Herald, teacher workshops and media tours of the newspaper’s facilities – all free of charge thanks to donations from readers and friends.
From adult education to ESL, students of all ages and abilities benefit from the Boston Herald in Education program. The newspaper is as a unique tool that provides students with knowledge about their own communities while reinforcing literacy skills.
