Get ready for back to school by learning new tech tools for your classroom– and enjoy a dessert tasting with treats from Boston’s finest bakeries! In this free workshop from the Boston Herald Newspaper in Education program, you will learn how to use and implement the latest multimedia learning tools into your curriculum. Mass Literacy editor and former technology teacher Julie DeFrancesco will cover three Web 2.0 tools including the video creation software Animoto, the interactive presentation program Prezi and the Boston Herald Smart Edition. Many of these programs can be used by educators to teach or review material, or they can be used by students to demonstrate learning.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
-Create videos using photos, text and music with Animoto
-Introduce the next generation of multimedia presentations into your curriculum with Prezi
-Offer an engaging and current learning experience with the Boston Herald Smart Edition
